About Junglefire Bengals

It all started in November 1996 when we visited the GCCF Supreme Show. We went, hoping to meet breeders and owners of Bengals, Ocicats & Singapuras, with a view to owning one of these beautiful cats.

Out of the 3 breeds we fell in love with the Bengals and arranged to visit a breeder in Northamptonshire who had 2 litters of young kittens.

We bought our first pet Bengal in February 1997 and went on to purchase another who is still here with us today.

My first breeding queen was born in November 1997 and is now a much loved pet in her forever home. She is a beautiful tri- coloured brown marbled girl with very rich colouring. To our surprise she carried snow which passed down to her daughter who produced our first stud cat Junglefire Ziggy Stardust who is now with Lynne Hedlund of Springmeadow Bengals.Several of Ziggy's offspring have gained titles with Tica.

Since then I have bought in carefully chosen cats from breeders in the UK, Canada & the USA in order to improve on the Bengal kittens I produce. This relatively new breed is still evolving & I am proud to be involved in their development. The quality of Bengals has changed considerably in the time I have been breeding them & that makes them such an exciting challenge.

About Bengal Cats

Jean Mill, of Millwood Bengals in America, originated and developed the beautiful Bengal breed during the 1970's. Most Bengal cats today have Millwood Bengals in their pedigrees. Bengal cats were developed from crossing an Asian Leopard cat with a domestic cat. The first 3 generations are classed as foundation cats or Bengal variants. From the 4th generation they are classed as Bengals and can be shown with the various cat associations that recognise them around the world. Tica granted the Bengal championship status in 1991.

The Bengal cat's coat & sleek appearance is reminiscent of some of the small wild cats but their temperament is completely domestic. They are playful, mischievous & highly intelligent & love to interact with their owners.

Although the Bengals are all registered to me I could not manage without Kevin's invaluable help especially at shows. We attend the shows together and over the years many of our cats have achieved great success, including those that I have invested in to improve my lines.

I am a member of the International Bengal Cat Society (TIBCS) and The International Cat Association (TICA), my cattery names (prefixes) Junglefire & Junglefrost are both TICA and GCCF registered.
I have also signed the Voluntary Responsible Breeders Program with TICA.
I am a member of the Spoticat club and the Cattica club, both Tica affilated.
Kevin & I are both committee members of the Ocicat & Bengal Cat Club & we maintain and update the club website.
We are joint members of the Bengal Cat Club of Great Britain & The Bengal Cat Club.
